ALICE COOPER ORIGINAL ART - HISTORIC CONCERT PAGE FROM DEBUT COMIC, MP #50 p6, 1979

Inventory No: CHV-197

Issue: MP #50 p6

Year: 1979

Publisher: Marvel

Description: SPECTACULAR IMAGES OF ROCK LEGEND ALICE COOPER ARE FEATURED IN ALMOST EVERY PANEL OF THIS HISTORIC WORK OF ART! This full page by Terry Austin and Tom Sutton is amazing. It is from the first Alice Cooper comic book appearance under his own title (#50 in the Marvel Premiere series). We consider this page to be a masterpiece. In the usual 10"x15" original art size of the era, it is extremely well detailed with fine line and bold brush on heavy art paper. The use of black ink is truly striking. The huge top panel finds Alice in concert with his pet snake Veronica wrapped around him. Especially powerful imagery. Page 6 of the story.

CONDITION: this original looks just about exactly like it did on the editor's desk thirty years ago. There is some white-out, and some masking tape on the back from editing some panels. Both the white-out and the masking tape are there just like when the page left the editor's desk for the printer. Overall this original art still looks close to new, with white paper, and we grade it a superb "as described VERY FINE." SCANS: we are providing three images. The first photo does a good job of showing the entire page (except that the photo looks much darker than the actual art, and is a bit fuzzy). Similarly, we have a photo of the back of the art. We are also have a higher quality detail, of the incomparable Alice in concert (with his pet snake Veronica). This is an historically important showpiece page of original art, suitable for the finest collections.
