ONE OF THE RARER AND MOST IMPRESSIVE OF ALL PLATINUM-ERA COMIC BOOKS IS OFFERED HERE! This is CHARLIE CHAPLIN'S COMIC CAPERS #315, which is the first of the four spectacular 16.5" x 10" Charlie Chaplin comics issued by Donohue during World War I. The spectacular full color cover image of Charlie bursting through a wall is still close to new-looking, and would look magnificent if framed. Interior comic strips feature Chaplin himself, and are by the legendary E.C. Segar. There is even a scene on page four of a stylized Black man, dating this 90 year old publication to a different era. CONDITION: is beautiful with striking, deep rich cover colors! There is a 2.5" tear at the top of the cover's spine which is only minimally noticeable when displayed. Complete with both covers and all interior pages (which have a light tan to cream page quality). Aside from the mentioned tear, we grade this a superb FINE/VERY FINE. Top price guide value as we write this, for those who are interested, is $1200. for a VF example. Nonetheless, our price is less than the guide value for a FINE example.
